Must have prior climbing experience, minimal lead experience. Good physical condition and a certain level of autonomy are required. The Dôle 5/5+ camp takes place with the Dôle 1/1+/2/3 camp for 5 days, then in pairs for the day afterward.
This week consists of 5 days of climbing in the Jura plus 3 OR 4 PRIVATE GUIDE DAYS (2:1 ratio) to complete three (four) multi-pitch routes depending on skill level (Miroir d’Argentine, Gastlosen, Miéville, Dorénaz…) in the Alps. The dates for these days are to be arranged in advance with participants and parents. Our base camp is located at La Dôle, at the Pile Dessus chalet or the La Combe Gelée chalet. From the chalet, we travel by minibus to the climbing areas in the La Dôle region and spend three or four days in the Alps. This camp is for people who have already climbed and are motivated to do three (four) long routes. Good physical condition and a certain level of autonomy are required. Accommodation is in dormitories in the chalet. Picnics are enjoyed outdoors at the foot of the routes. Evening meals are taken at a large communal table; young people participate in meal preparation and household chores. Vegetables or fruits are served with every meal.
Day 1: Welcome of participants at the chalet, dormitory setup, distribution of technical equipment for the week. St-Cergue cliff: practice of tying-in and belaying knots, practice of using a top rope, practice of placing quickdraws, passing and positioning the rope in quickdraws, setting up a top rope for lead climbing. Lead climbing, easy routes.
Day 2: St-George cliff: how to progress on several short pitches, belay stations, rope maneuvers, belaying and leading the second climber, easy climbing routes. Day 3: Pont cliff: slightly more difficult routes, 2-pitch routes, review of concepts learned the day before, abseiling. Midday barbecue.
Day 4: Climbing day at La Dôle.
Day 5: Tidying and cleaning the chalet. Chemin au Loup cliff. More technical climbing. Days 6-8, (Day 9): Multi-pitch routes (Miroir d’Argentine, Gastlosen, Miéville, Dorénaz). Guide-to-participant ratio 2:1 (private guide). Dates to be agreed upon with participants

Chalet 1 Pile-Dessus:
Via the Lausanne – Geneva motorway, take the Nyon exit, head towards St Cergue, then La Cure. After the French-Swiss customs, turn left (sign for “Dijon, Les Rousses, massif de la Dôle”), continue straight for 200 m until a yield sign, then turn left onto the D1005 (sign for “St Claude, Gex, Col de la Faucille, Le Balancier, Massif de la Dôle”). When you see La Dôle ahead, continue 200 m to the roundabout and take the direction “Geneva, Gex, Col de la Faucille, Le Balancier, Massif de la Dôle”. Drive 2 km and at the level of the winter parking lot for the Balancier chairlift (located below on the right), after a blue P (Parking) sign, take the small road to the left until you reach the Chalet Hôtel Côté Dôle (sign “Chalet côté Dôle”). In front of it, take the small dirt/gravel path to the left (small sign “La Pile Dessus CAF Châlon”) until you reach the Pile Dessus chalet. Park in front of the gate on the roadside.
Chalet 2 Combe Gelée:
Via the Lausanne – Geneva motorway, take the Nyon exit, head towards St Cergue, go to Gingins (road on the left before the forest, do not continue on the main road to St Cergue). In the village, take the direction La Barillette – La Dôle; a small mountain road (15-20 min) leads you to the summit of La Barillette (large antenna and parking, follow Swisscom sign). Park next to the antenna in front of the panorama. You will find the La Combe Gelée chalet below the parking lot.
