Q: Where can I rent climbing equipment? Is it included in the camp or activity price?

Technical equipment (climbing shoes, harness, helmet) is provided by the school. For clothing, shoes, or other items, you can equip your child at mountain sports stores (see our partners under "Practical Info"). Generally, for activities, the rental of technical equipment is included in the price, unless the rental price is explicitly mentioned.

Q: Do you have an equipment list for my child attending a camp?

Yes, you will find an exhaustive list of equipment your child needs to bring to camp under the "Equipment and Material" section of the camp details or on page 8 of the registration form PDF.

Q: Which climbing camp and level should I register my child for?

Levels range from Dole 1 to Dole 6. If you are unsure about the level, please do not hesitate to contact us. In any case, we will verify the actual climbing level on site on the first day of camp and adapt accordingly.

At what age can my child start climbing camps? How old do they need to be for a camp or activity?

The minimum age for residential camps is 7 years old. However, by agreement and discussion with parents, the minimum age can be lowered to 6 years old for certain special cases.
The minimum age for non-residential camps is 6 years old. However, by agreement and after a discussion with parents, the minimum age can be lowered to 5 years old for certain special cases.
For activities, the minimum age is 4 years old.

Where do I find the meeting point for my child's camp or activity? What should I do if I'm late?

The camp meeting point (chalet) is clearly specified under the camp's "Access Map" (Google Map, photo, and description). Please note that our camps take place in 2 different chalets (south and north of La Dôle). A WhatsApp message with the latest logistical details will be sent to you a few days before the camp, specifying which chalet to go to.
The meeting point for activities may be different. It will be specified to you, along with equipment, picnic, drinks, etc., by message a few days before the activity.
In case of delay, please notify us quickly by message or call us.

Do you have an equipment list for my child attending a camp?

How can I get to La Dôle by car? Can I come to the camp by train?

You will find access to the resort under the "Practical Info" section.
Car access maps for the chalets for camps are under the "Access Map" section of each camp.
La Cure train station is a few kilometers from the foot of La Dôle. In summer, there is no shuttle or bus from the station. The only options are on foot, by bike, or by taxi. In winter, regular shuttles connect La Cure station to La Dôle.

How can I book my camp?

Camp registrations start in November for the following summer and in September for the following winter. You will find the camp registration conditions on the registration form.
If you are planning your family vacation in advance and want to guarantee a spot for your child for a specific camp date, register your child as early as possible, especially for the first 2 weeks of the Vaud summer holidays (the most requested).
When a camp week is full, we close registrations, and it is no longer possible to register your child for those dates.

When do I need to pay for my activity?

Book your activity by phone or WhatsApp: send us a WhatsApp message or call to arrange a day and time slot. You will then receive a MyPos link for your reservation. Once payment for the course is made by credit card using the MYPOS link or via TWINT, you will receive a confirmation, the name of your guide, and a Google Map of the meeting point. Generally, payment must be made at least one week in advance to guarantee your desired time slot. During school holidays, reservations must be made well in advance to ensure an available instructor.

Do I need to take out insurance? Is it included in the price of camps or activities?

The School declines all responsibility in case of accident. Each participant must have their own accident insurance.
Individuals participating in camps or activities are not covered by the school's insurance. Each participant must insure themselves against the risks inherent in this type of sports activity. REGA insurance covers search, rescue, and repatriation costs. It is mandatory to participate in our camps and activities.

Is the camp still held if it rains?

Yes. The camp takes place regardless of weather conditions (sun, wind, cold, or rain). Weather is under no circumstances a reason for cancellation.
The program is established according to current conditions. We have sheltered cliffs in the region, even in case of rain. Indoor climbing is also an option in bad weather. In case of high heat, climbing sectors in the shade or in the cool forest are preferred.
