This week consists of 5 days of climbing in the Joux Valley and the surrounding areas. Our base camp is located in L’Abbaye. From here, we travel by minibus to the region’s climbing spots. . This camp is for young people who have already climbed.
Learning lead climbing, multi-pitch routes. Accommodation is in dormitories at the S-Cal refuge with direct access to the indoor climbing wall for rainy days. Picnics are held outdoors at the foot of the routes. Evening meals are taken at a large communal table, with children participating in meal preparation and household chores. Vegetables or fruits are available every day, whether for picnic or dinner.
Day 1: Parents and children are welcomed at the S-Cal refuge in L’Abbaye at 11 AM, dormitory setup, distribution of technical equipment for the week. Pont Cliff: learning tying-in and belaying knots, familiarization with top-roping, first climbing steps in this fantastic climbing garden for children.
Day 2: Pontarlier Cliff: easy climbing routes. An ideal place for groups. Progression of climbing skills, body balance, foot placement, climbing rhythm, breathing, rock reading. First easy lead climb. At noon, children prepare a fire and grill sausages on sticks.
Day 3: St Loup Cliff: slightly more difficult routes, easy lead climb. Magnificent view of the Nozon gorges.
Day 4: Aiguilles de Baulmes, multi-pitch routes (ridge climb) with the best. Day 5: Tidying and cleaning the chalet. Lac Brenet Cliff. Climbing, learning rappelling, return of technical equipment. Parents are welcomed for the children’s return home.

Getting to the Joux Valley. L’Abbaye is located on the shore of Lake Joux, 2 km from Le Pont towards Le Sentier. In the center of the village, take the road towards the lake. After 50 m on the left, you will find the S-Cal refuge in a village house.

If needed, we recommend the following mountain equipment stores: Décathlon, Bächli, Transa, Look Montagne, Raoul Sport, François Sport
Do not hesitate to invest if the equipment is old or ill-suited, your child will not regret it up there!!!

Supervision is provided by a certified mountain guide. We reserve the right
to cancel the camp depending on conditions or lack of participants.
Price:
Our prices are per person and include supervision by a guide, half-board in a campsite, refuge, gîte, or hotel, picnic lunch, technical equipment, and transport. Drinks in refuges are not included.
Group Activities:
Group activity numbers are counted per guide based on safety criteria for the activity itself. Camps take place in a good atmosphere and for the well-being of young people. Non-compliance and actions not conducive to the smooth running of the camp will be sanctioned, and the child sent back to their parents.
Registration:
A registration is only considered upon payment of a registration fee corresponding to the camp price.
Cancellation:
If, for any reason, a registered person withdraws from an activity, a 100% retention fee will be applied. Any camp started will not be refunded except in the case of a medical problem, where a camp credit will be opened for the participant.
Insurance:
Participants are not insured by the mountain guide. It is the participant’s responsibility to have adequate health and accident insurance (including accidents that may occur during mountain tours).
Each participant must have helicopter rescue and repatriation insurance. For participants who do not have such insurance, we offer a form with REGA to be completed and paid before the camp. Price/person: CHF 30.
Participant’s Responsibility
The participant or the participant’s legal representative assumes:
– full responsibility for damages caused intentionally or unintentionally to facilities or
other items belonging to or rented by PROGRESSION
– Repatriation costs following expulsion
– Postal return costs for clothing and other items
Medical File:
Any medical issues must be reported to PROGRESSION in writing.
Transport:
Each participant must make their own way to the camp’s meeting point
