About

This week consists of 5 days of climbing in the Jura plus 1 OR 2 DAY(S) of PRIVATE GUIDE RATIO (2:1) to complete one (or two) multi-pitch route(s) depending on the level (Miroir d’Argentine, Gastlosen, Miéville, Dorénaz…) in the Alps. The date(s) for this (these) day(s) must be arranged in advance with the participants and parents. Our base camp is located at La Dôle, either at the Pile Dessus chalet or La Combe Gelée chalet. We travel from the chalet by minibus to the climbing areas in the Dôle region and spend one or two day(s) in the Alps. This camp is intended for people who have already climbed and are motivated to do one (or two) long route(s). Good physical condition and a certain level of autonomy are required. Accommodation is in dormitories in the chalet. Picnics are enjoyed outdoors at the foot of the routes. Evening meals are taken at a large communal table, with young people participating in meal preparations and household chores. Vegetables or fruits are served with every meal.

After the French-Swiss customs, turn left (sign for “Dijon, Les Rousses, massif de la Dôle”), continue straight for 200 m until a yield sign, then turn left onto the D1005 (sign for “St Claude, Gex, Prémanon”). When you see La Dôle ahead, continue 200 m to the roundabout and take the direction “Geneva, Gex, Col de la Faucille, Le Balancier, Massif de la Dôle”. Drive 2 km and at the winter parking lot of the Balancier chairlift (located below on the right), after a blue P (Parking) sign, take the small road to the left until you reach Chalet Hôtel Côté Dôle (sign for “Chalet côté Dôle”). In front of it, take the small dirt/gravel path to the left (small sign “La Pile Dessus CAF Châlon”) until you reach the Pile Dessus chalet. Park in front of the gate on the side of the road.
Chalet 2 Combe Gelée:
From the Lausanne – Geneva motorway, take the Nyon exit, head towards St Cergue, go to Gingins (road on the left before the forest, do not continue on the main road to St Cergue). In the village, take the direction La Barillette – La Dôle, a small mountain road (15-20 min) leads you to the summit of La Barillette (large antenna and parking, follow Swisscom sign).
