Detailed Program

Below is an overview of the Lower Valais program: We gradually train children in rope techniques, knots, and rock progression methods. During this learning period, we travel by minibus to the climbing schools of Dorénaz, Miéville, Chemin-dessus, and St Triphon. Accommodation is in dormitories at the Martigny campsite. In case of rain, we go to an indoor climbing gym. Picnics are held outdoors at the foot of the routes. Children can shower every evening at the campsite in clean facilities. Evening meals are taken at a large table, and children participate in meal preparations and household chores.
Day 1: Parents and children are welcomed at the Shell station in Signy, bus journey to Martigny. Check-in at the TCS campsite in Martigny, overnight in a dormitory.
Learning rope and belaying knots, first steps on boulders, familiarization with climbing shoes, first climbing routes. (Dorénaz la Carrière)
Day 2: Progression in climbing learning, body balance, foot positioning, climbing rhythm, breathing, rock reading. (Miéville)
Day 3: Easy to medium climbing routes depending on skill level. (Chemin-dessus or Colombey)
